South African fans on Monday night demanded that Percy Tau be recalled to the starting line-up after the Bafana Bafana attacker was an unused substitute as Brighton suffered a stoppage-time 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Christian Benteke stunned the Seagulls with a 95th minute volley to seal an unlikely win after the home side had dominated for much of the match at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton had a massive 74% of possession to Palace’s 26% with 25 attempts at goal compared to Palace’s three strikes in a smash and grab win for Roy Hodgson’s side.
South African fans made their feelings known on social media after the game and demanded on Brighton’s official Twitter account that Tau should have seen more action.
The Bafana Bafana attacker was an unused substitute with impatient local fans demanding that Tau be given playing time in the starting line-up or to make an impact off the bench.
This is what happens when you don’t play the Lion of Judah Percy Tau! ????
