Murder victim Nadine Lott
It read: Just you wait Danny little boy. Just you wait. See you on the inside.
His social media account also give gardai an insight into his mindset.
In one tweet, he said: Its great when ye do a round on the boxing bag and picture some1s face on it and nearly taking the f* thing off the wall.
SHOCKING MURDER
The probe into the shocking murder was run by senior investigating officer Supt Sorcha Fitzpatrick and the team at Arklow and Wicklow Garda Stations under the command of Supt Declan McCarthy.
The first officers to arrive at the scene of the crime were Gda Linda Butler and Gda Ben Silverlock.
The paramedics who treated Nadine at the scene were Stefano Coppola, McCartan Hughes and Ian Clarke.
BRAVE FIGHT FOR LIFE
The paramedic heroes managed to keep her alive and brought her to St Vincents Hospital.
But she lost her brave fight for life three days later, with her family able to say their goodbyes in a dignified manner.
Supt McCarthy welcomed Murtaghs conviction for murder and said: This was a very important verdict in the context of people committing violence while intoxicated.
A dangerous message would have gone out if he had been convicted of manslaughter.
I would like to acknowledge everyone in the investigation team for the huge dedication and commitment to the case.
The officer called the violence perpetrated on Nadine horrendous and said he did not think in his 40 years of policing that he had ever seen or read of such a level of violence used towards an individual.
‘VERY CLEAR’
He continued: This wasnt a domestic violence situation as such. They were separated for quite a long time and Nadine had made it very clear that she wanted no form of relationship.
Nadine had been unambiguous and very clear about that from the very start.
“The perpetrator in this case seems to have been clearly deluded about the status of his relationship with Nadine.
The garda went on: It was a very difficult and harrowing case to deal with.In 40 years of policing Ive never seen or read of such a level of violence used towards an individual.
“There was never any doubt in our minds from the start about the intent. The intent was to kill Nadine.
