Seema Azad’s husband was admitted to a hospital after testing COVID positive, so when she also tested positive, she channelised her energy into praying for the speedy recovery of her husband and taking care of her 5 year old daughter.
Like a regular day, everything was going just fine and I started my diwali preparation. I was unaware that an uninvited guest was to knock at my door – Corona
Before 13th of November, coronavirus was just a news for me where I was diligently following all the health recommendations – from maintaining social distancing, wearing masks and sanitizing my hands. But guess that was not enough. That day first my husband tested positive following a few days of fever. He was asked by his doctor to get tested.
As soon as he tested positive, we immediately got him admitted to the hospital, as per our doctor’s guidance. My husband gathered all the courage and went to the hospital alone. It was a battle that now me and my 5 year old daughter had to fight – because when it comes to a virus like coronavirus, you have to fight your battles on your own. I had never imagined something like this could ever happen to us.
I collected all my strength and decided to fight and win this battle. There was an unknown source of energy which didn’t let me lose my courage – one was my father’s blessings, my mother’s continuous guidance and my brother’s unconditional support. Last but not the least, my God who gave me unlimited courage to manage everything all alone with my 5-year-old daughter.
My husband was under the supervision of doctors. On 16the November, I got tested for COVID and also tested positive. But I was mentally prepared to fight any situation and I opted for home isolation and took treatment from my doctor online. I had a mild loss of smell and there were some rashes on my body. I was naturally worried about my daughter but the doctor told me that children below the age of 5 have immunity given by God to fight corona to save the innocent children.
To be honest, I actually forgot I was COVID positive because I had to take care of my daughter. I managed my health, my child and my home all alone. I was physically present at home but mentally I was with my husband. I underwent 10 days of continued mental and physical suffering, which only ended when my husband returned home on 23 November. That day I celebrated diwali, decorated my home with diyas. My baby was smiling again and I felt fully content with life. You must be wondering why I am sharing this with you. Well, it is because I want to tell everyone that they should not ignore their previous lives given by God with negligence.
If you experience any symptoms related to corona don’t sit at home in fear. Get yourself tested and don’t delay testing. If you test positive, take your doctor’s advise and accordingly decide your course of action. Be courageous and strong, prepare your family to fight this situation all alone.
Also, take good care of your health. Change your eating habits if they are not healthy, after all health is wealth. Drink plenty of warm water regularly. Drink kadha and do lung exercises. Eat plenty of salad, green vegetables and ginger garlic. Diseases don’t attack seeing your profession or status, they can happen to anybody at any time. Take care of your parents and family.
Keep an oximeter handy and keep checking your oxygen saturation level – it should be above 95.
We fought this with the blessings of God and strength given by our family.
Stay safe!
