An official from the Davao City Health Office (CHO) clarified that “There are no vaccine-related deaths documented in Davao City.
CHO Acting Head Dr. Ashley Lopez, in an issued statement provided by the Davao City Information Office on Friday, June 11, made the clarification following his statement on Thursday, June 10, that CHO is probing the death of two individuals who reportedly died after being vaccinated.
“The cases mentioned during the recent media interview remain being thoroughly investigated and most likely coincidental,” he said.
The official said Covid-19 vaccines that were released and given emergency use authorization (EUA) by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are “safe and effective.”
“Let us support, commit, and participate in the vaccination program because in the end we will be able to realize the benefits of Covid-19 vaccination,” Lopez said.
The city government has been vaccinating the first three priority groups — A1 (medical frontliners), A2 (senior citizens), and A3 (persons with comorbidities). (RGL)
