PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 6,824 new Covid-19 cases on Monday (May 31), bringing the total number of infections since the pandemic began to 572,357.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor still had the most infections at 2,111 new cases.
This was followed by Kelantan with 695 new infections, Sarawak (654) and Johor (489).
All states and federal territories reported new Covid-19 infections on Monday, Dr Noor Hisham said.
In the same 24-hour period, there were 67 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 2,796. There were also 5,251 recoveries, which means 490,038 have recovered from the disease nationwide. There are still 851 patients in intensive care units, with 422 requiring ventilator support.
