Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have decided to go their separate ways after four years together.
While the power couple have not issued any statement, those close to them have said that Lopez and Rodriguez have called off their engagement.
“This has been a long time coming. They are tied in their business worlds so it’s not a cut and dry breakup. It’s taken a while for them to even think about untangling it all,” a source was quoted telling People magazine.
Lopez and Rogdiguez got engaged in March of 2019.
Another source told CNN that Lopez, 51 and Rodriguez, 45 split “a few weeks ago”.
Last month Rodriguez was in the news when it was hinted that he had an affair with reality show, Southern Charm’s Madison LeCroy.
LeCroy said that she and Rodriguez only spoke on the phone. She told The New York Post’s Page Six that Rodriguez has “never physically cheated on his fiance with me,” and they spoke “randomly, but not consistent”.
In December 2020, Lopez revealed that she and Rodriguez had postponed their nuptials twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We had to cancel the wedding because of Covid because of the quarantine. And we actually did it twice, which people don’t know,” the singer said.
Recently, Lopez revealed that she and Rodriguez attended couple therapies together during the quarantine.
It has been actually really good. We got to work on ourselves. We did therapy. I think it was really helpful for us in our relationship, she told Allure magazine in its March issue.
Lopez has been married three times Ojani Noa, 1997 to 1998; Cris Judd, 2001 to 2003; and Marc Anthony, 2004 to 2014, while Rodriguez was married to Cynthia Scurtis in 2002 for six years. Both stars have two children each from the previous marriages.
