ONE thing people always look for in a smartphone is how good the camera is.
Users nowadays enjoy experimenting with various camera features and are always on the lookout for the best smartphone model that gives them good value for money.
Understanding the public’s demand, realme recently launched the realme 8 Pro smartphone in Malaysia, which comes equipped with the highest megapixel camera in the market.
What a 108MP camera looks like
realme 8 Pro features an upgraded third-generation HM2 sensor along with an additional 1/1.52-inch large sensor that delivers the highest resolution, up to 12,000px x 9,000px.
By offering such a high resolution, users can take professional-grade photos by using their smartphones.

Users can also turn on the AI scene recognition function which makes the colour of the picture clearer and more neutral.
It also comes with a 119-degree wide-angle lens with f/2.25 aperture and an 8MP resolution to prevent users from having to lie on the ground in order to take wide-angle photos.
The macro lens on the realme 8 Pro allows users to take pictures from a distance of four cm.
Meanwhile, black-and-white portrait lenses offer a colour filter system that enables portrait lenses to detect a wider range of light, helps the main lens capture light better, improves photo brightness, produces retro-style photos and adds texture to portraits.
Taking pictures at night with smartphone is challenging, however with the Nightscape powered by ISOCELL Plus, Smart-ISO and 9-in-1 Pixel Binning on the realme 8 Pro, the quality of lowlight pictures is much better.
Due to the power of this devices Pure Raw Nightscape algorithm, picture noise reduction AI and automatic dead pixel removal, night-scene pictures are brighter and more stunning.
Additionally, realme 8 Pro introduces the new 3x In-Sensor Zoom technology that uses 12MP and 108MP magnified lenses to produce images.
Compared to the usual cutting algorithm, it has a smaller imaging size and faster imaging speed.
With the Clarity Enhancement Algorithm, eight images can be taken quickly at a time, then synthesised to increase sharpness.
Starry Mode
realme also presents its second-generation Starry Mode, upgraded and optimised to allow users to capture the night sky in all of its beauty.
Not only does the camera perform well when it comes to pictures, the realme 8 Pro camera also comes with a time-lapse video recording function.
This device is the first smartphone in the world to allow time-lapse video recording in Starry Mode.
In Starry Mode, realme 8 Pro takes 16 pictures every 15 seconds for 4 minutes, and combines them into pictures.
Miniature world
Tilt-shift Mode
Even better, realme 8 Pro also introduces Tilt-shift Mode that can turn the real world into a miniature using optical illusions.
When looking at close-ups of objects, the foreground and background are usually out of focus.
Adding a precise blur effect to such a picture will trick users brains into thinking that they are seeing a miniature scene thats very close to them.
Typically, this blur effect is achieved with tilt-shift lenses that make some parts of the photo clear and some parts blurry.
However, with the power of realmes new tilt-shift photography algorithm, users can not only transform the real world into magical miniatures but are able to manually adjust the shape, angle, position and measurement of blur effects.
Tilt-shift Mode also supports time-lapse video recording with 10x repetitions to present the real world in a more spectacular and unique way.
realme 8 Pro is in a class of its own, as it is also the world’s first tilt-shift time-lapse smartphone.
Stylish portraits
realme also introduced several portrait modes for users to produce stylish portrait images such as Neon Portrait, Dynamic Bokeh, AI Color Portrait, New AI Portrait and 16MP Selfie portrait.
Neon Portrait
Neon Portrait increases the blur effect to give the picture a dreamy look.
Dynamic Bokeh
Dynamic Bokeh highlights subjects with busy backgrounds to create an interesting sense of motion.
AI Color Portrait
AI Color Portrait allows users to take colour portraits but gives the effect of a black-and-white background.
New AI Portrait
The new AI Portrait detects portraits in a variety of scenarios and optimises shots using the AI Portrait Algorithm.
New AI Portrait
Users can take bright portrait photos that look natural without using special modes.
Meanwhile, realme 8 Pros 16MP Selfie portrait ensures that every selfie photo looks perfect with its AI Beauty, Portrait Mode and Super Nightscape.
realme 8 Pro also introduced the Dual-view video feature which allows users to record videos using its front and rear cameras.
With this feature, users can unleash their creativity by producing short videos using the upgraded Ultra Nightscape Video feature that allows it to intelligently detect light in order to increase the videos brightness.
Faster, safer and smoother
realme 8 Pro comes with a 4,500mAh battery and 50W SuperDart Charge that can fully charge the battery in just 47 minutes.
Coupled with the 8nm Snapdragon 720G Mobile Platform and Super AMOLED Displays low energy consumption, users will still be able to play a few rounds of mobile gaming even after using this device for the whole day.
realme 8 Pro is also equipped with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED full screen with a special material that gives it a brighter display.
It also comes with realme UI 2.0 and Android 11 which is faster, safer and smoother.
With more than 100 customisable item options, realme 8 Pro gives users the freedom to get creative with its themes, such as Global Theme Color, 3 Styles Dark Mode and Icon Customization.
